It has been a very long time since I updated my blog here with what has been going on at Samnooshka Designs.
Along side the website/logos and advertising projects for clients, I have been busy building my own t-shirt and hoodie designs. I am hoping to build a new website purely for my new venture, but for now, these can be viewed and purchased on my photography website here:

If you have a design idea that you would like to see featured, please get in touch. I do not charge to design a shirt or hoodie, providing it is then sold through my store. I look forward to hearing your ideas!
What has started as a little project to learn more about Procreate, has now turned into a big project covering a lot of dog breeds. I love creating these and with more breeds being added to my to-do list every day, this will become a massive ongoing project with print options hopefully available soon.

I treated myself to a rather extravagant present for my birthday this year, an Ipad Pro 12.9 inch. I love it, and I know this will add to my design process as I'm able to sketch ideas easier without having to sit at my desk. I downloaded Procreate, which is just £9.99 from the App Store and started sketching away, and also followed a few tutorials to get used to the layout and the brushes. The format is similar enough to Photoshop that it didn't take long to get used to it but different enough that I still need to keep playing until I can do in Procreate what I can do in Photoshop, although I will most likely be using a combination of both programs to really make the most of what they have to offer.
After a long break from my work, I'm glad to be designing again. Times have been hard recently, the loss of my Grandfather on Christmas Eve plus a house move at the same time, has left me feeling burned out. But sitting here in the evenings after my toddler has finally gone to bed, I am starting to really enjoy creating again. The other good news is that as my daughter starts nursery next week, I'll have more time in my day to start and finish my current commissions during the day, meaning far fewer late nights and fewer days where I am simply exhausted.
Anyway, here are the recent designs created in Procreate. I hope to do many more in the future and also open this up to custom designs for my wonderful customers.
I created this design for a friend of mine who had lost both mother and daughter and another dog in the short space of 5 months. We all love to see our dogs get old, but it still doesn't make their passing any easier, especially losing so many in such a short space of time. I wanted to create this to remember the 3 that had gone over the bridge with mother and daughter together again, running free like the young ladies they once were.
This project has been a labour of love. 3 months work (on and off) and many late nights fuelled by coffee to get it finished.
All design work was completed in Adobe Illustrator. The hardest part of any design like this is the eyes. They have to be right to capture the personality of the dog as it is the first thing we notice. I cant wait to see the finished product printed onto the side of the van.
